The City of Lebanon and LM&M Railroad Collaborate for Infrastructure Improvements

The City of Lebanon is entering into a new eight-year rail usage agreement with the Cincinnati Scenic Railway, operator of the LM&M Railroad. This new agreement allows the LM&M Railroad to continue to use the City-owned rail line to provide passenger excursions. Through a grant-driven collaborative effort between the City and LM&M Railroad, significant improvements will be made to rail infrastructure to ensure long-term operation of the rail line, preserving the train as a unique feature of Lebanon’s downtown entertainment offerings, benefitting economic development through tourism. According to a 2014 Economic Impact Study, the train operation was estimated to contribute over $2.5 million in economic activity for the City.

“We are thrilled to enter into this new agreement with the City of Lebanon.  The LM&M values the relationship that it has within the Lebanon community and looks forward to building upon this more in the future with exciting new events. As a 501c3 Nonprofit, we will also be expanding our educational and historical outreach throughout the region by offering exclusive new programs, resulting in more tourism to the City of Lebanon.” - Ray Kammer, President of Cincinnati Scenic Railway (LM&M Railroad).

The Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad (LM&M Railroad), operating from Historic Downtown Lebanon, offers scenic train rides through Southwestern Ohio in Warren County. The train operates on approximately 6 miles of track between Lebanon, Mason and Monroe. The train offers nostalgic train rides, presenting passengers with the opportunity to learn about local history and railroad operations while creating everlasting memories with family and friends. In April 2022, the LM&M Railroad will be offering the Easter Bunny Express, the Murder Mystery Train, the Turtle Creek Valley Flyer and the Lebanon Experience.
