Mission
City cemeteries, parks, roadways, water infrastructure, sewer infrastructure, vehicles and equipment will be maintained through the proper utilization of allotted resources using proven technology to best serve the needs of our community.  Provide reliable, cost effective water, wastewater, and storm water services to our residents and businesses while preserving our water resources and improving the quality of life in Lebanon. 

Divisions and what we do
The Public Works Department consists of the following divisions:
  • Cemetery - manage the sell of burial sites and maintain 36 acres of land where approximately 12,000 have been laid to rest
  • Fleet Maintenance - perform routine maintenance and any needed repairs to 187 vehicles and pieces of equipment
  • Parks - maintain 500+ acres of parks/nature preserve/trails/paths that includes 17 parks, 7 play grounds, 10 ball fields and 8 miles of bike path
  • Streets - maintain 219 lane miles of roadway, street signage, parking meters, provide leaf collection services, snow removal services, street sweeping services and provide staff support  for festivals/events
  • Water Distribution-Sewer (Sanitary & Storm) Collections - provide maintenance services for 116 miles of water main, 4 water towers, 2 booster stations, 208 miles of sanitary & storm sewer lines and 6 sewer pump stations
  • Wastewater Treatment - provides treatment of approximately 2.856 million gallons of wastewater per day
