The Support Services Bureau works to support the patrol operations.  Their duties include the Communications Center, police records, evidence and property room, recruiting and hiring, promotional processes, accreditation, finances and budgeting.

The Support Services Bureau is commanded by Captain Matt Weithofer.  Captain Weithofer has been a member of the Lebanon Division of Police since 2006.  During his career, Captain Weithofer was a Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) instructor and became the first Lebanon police officer to be certified as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).  He received recognition from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MAAD) for his efforts in combating impaired driving.  Captain Weithofer was promoted to sergeant in 2015 and served as a watch commander for two years, before becoming the commander of the Criminal Investigations Section in 2017.  He was promoted to captain in 2020. 


Captain Weithofer graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati.  He also graduated with honors from Tiffin University, where he obtained a master’s degree in criminal justice administration.  Captain Weithofer is a graduate of the Supervisor Training and Education Program (STEP) and the Police Executive Leadership College (PELC).  Captain Weithofer also is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, which is an intensive leadership and management education program that helps prepare experienced law enforcement professionals for success in senior command positions.
