The Lebanon Division of Police is scheduled for an on-site assessment on October 19-21, 2020, to ensure compliance with the Commission of Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies' (CALEA) accreditation standards. In order to maintain its current accreditation status, the Lebanon Division of Police must comply with 484 applicable professional standards. While on site, the assessors will review agency policies and practices, interview personnel, and observe operations.

As part of this assessment, agency employees and members of the community may offer comments by calling (513) 228-3391 on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. until 3 p.m. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team.

 Agency employees and members of the community are also invited to offer comments at a public information session on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. The session will be completed using Zoom Meetings. The link for the Zoom meeting is the following:

Telephone comments and appearances at the public information session are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency's ability to comply with CALEA's standards. An overview of CALEA standards can be found on CALEA’s website at www.calea.org. Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the Lebanon Division of Police's ability to comply with the standards for accreditation may send them to CALEA at 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville, Virginia 20155. 

The CALEA assessment team is composed of public safety and law enforcement practitioners from out-of-state agencies. The Lebanon Division of Police was the 11th law enforcement agency in the country to achieve this accreditation and the 2nd agency in Ohio. This will be our 9th reaccreditation.
