The City of Lebanon Public Works Department maintains more than 200 lane miles of roadway. The division consists of five personnel, two mechanics, and a superintendent who reports to the deputy city manager.
Responsibilities
Public Works Department responsibilities include:
- After-hours calls for emergency situations, including storm damage, roadway debris removal, traffic control, and other types of emergencies
- Inventory, repair, and replacement of all street signs
- Leaf pick-up
- Maintenance of the downtown parking meters
- Mowing of all City rights of way
- Snow removal
- Street repair and maintenance
- Street striping
- Street sweeping
Snow Removal
One of the major duties for the Public Works Department is snow removal. The City utilizes salt brine to better treat the City’s roadways before and during snow events. This technology allows us to be proactive in the treatment and removal of snow and ice on our streets.
